Ingredients

  • Urad Dal(Black lentils)
  • Sugar
  • Water
  • Saffron
  • Cardamom
  • Frying oil
  • Food coloring

Instructions

  1. Puree Urad Dal soaked overnight into a very smooth paste, add food coloring (orange), whip firmly incorporating air.
  2. Boil sugar, water, saffron, cardamom into syrup.
  3. Put batter in piping bag, extrude in a 'flower shape (small loops around a circle)' into hot oil. Fry both sides, dip in syrup while hot to finish.
