Instructions

  3. tsp green tea leaves,
  4. cardamom pods,
  5. cinnamon stick, few saffron threads,
  6. tbsp slivered almonds,
  7. tbsp honey), 60ml dark rum (Old Monk etc.).
  8. Snowing Kashmir (or Delhi winter night). Put water in small pot (or traditional Samovar), heavily rub lightly-crushed cardamom, cinnamon stick, expensive saffron with fingers and heat.
  9. When spice aromas transfer and hot water turns beautiful golden, add green tea leaves brewing for mins, dissolving sweet honey (or sugar) making traditional 'Kahwa Tea'.
  10. Tightly lay slivered almonds at bottom of heat-resistant glass cups (or pottery cups).
  11. Quietly pour 30ml each India-produced dark rum 'Old Monk' with intense vanilla aroma into glasses.
  12. Instantly pour piping hot golden 'Kahwa Tea' boiling in pot through strainer over rum.
  13. Moment poured, rum alcohol evaporates 'whoosh', noble saffron aroma and sweet cinnamon smell wrap entire face. Warming glass with both hands and slurping a sip, green tea freshness, honey sweetness, rum's violent richness unite, birthing intense heat from bottom of frozen stomach—winter magic.
