Recipe

Ingredients

  • Flour
  • Pork
  • Dried shredded radish(Luobosi)
  • Green scallions
  • Black pepper

Instructions

  1. [Authentic Recipe]
  2. Prepare crispy pie dough (You Su Pi) with flour and lard.
  3. Rehydrate Taiwanese dried shredded radish (Luobosi), squeeze tightly, and chop finely.
  4. Knead lean minced pork and fat with the radish, massive black pepper, five-spice, soy sauce, and sesame oil until sticky.
  5. Since the radish absorbs the pork fat and spice umami, it leaks less juice and condenses flavor compared to regular Hujiao Bing.
  6. Wrap the filling and massive green scallions in dough, coat with white sesame, and bake in a clay oven (or high-heat oven) until crispy.
