- [Dough Prep] Soak sticky rice. Add salt to fresh pig's blood (or duck blood) to prevent coagulation, and mix thoroughly with the drained sticky rice.
- Pour into a square mold and steam solid for about
- hour (this forms the pitch-black 'Zhu Xue Gao' base).
- Cool, cut into rectangular popsicle shapes, and insert a bamboo skewer from the bottom.
- Reheat piping hot in a stall steamer (or broth).
- Brush the entire surface generously with sweet 'thick soy sauce (Jiangyou Gao)' and a little chili sauce (Tianla Jiang).
- Press into a tray of peanut powder (Hua Sheng Fen mixed with a little sugar) to coat both sides completely, top with cilantro, and serve.
