Ingredients

Instructions

  1. [Authentic Recipe]
  2. [Batter] Mix all-purpose flour, baking powder, baking soda, brown sugar, egg, and milk (or water) into a thick pancake-like batter. Rest slightly to stabilize bubbles.
  3. [Filling] Prepare a special sweet powder mixing roasted crushed peanut powder (Hua Sheng Fen), black sesame, and massive brown sugar (or red sugar).
  4. Oil a giant round flat pan (or skillet) lightly, pour batter over the entire surface spreading it into a thick crepe (~2cm thick).
  5. Bake slowly on low; when bubbles form on the surface, spread the special peanut-brown-sugar powder very thickly over 'half' the surface area.
  6. When the bottom turns golden, use a spatula to lift the empty half and fold it over the filling to make a 'half-moon shape'.
  7. Steam-fry slightly until the brown sugar melts into a syrup, cut into radial triangles (pizza cut) to serve.
