- Bone-in chicken

- Wash dried Gouweicao roots (sold in bundles at supers/markets) well to remove dirt.
- Put plenty of water and Gouweicao in a pot, simmer slowly for ~
- hr to make 'special amber herb dashi'.
- Remove the simmered roots.
- Put parboiled chicken, goji, and red dates into the dashi and simmer another
- mins.
- Season with salt and a little rice wine to finish.
