How to use

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. If using whole (in pod), lightly crush pod with knife belly or mortar to slightly expose the inner black seeds (aroma source).
  2. For curry, put into heated oil during initial tempering; for Chai, boil from water, firmly transferring noble aroma to oil/water.
  3. Since aroma evaporates, if using powder, mix briefly at the finishing stage of dishes/sweets.

Trivia

[Hardcore] The world's 3rd most expensive spice after saffron/vanilla. Accidentally biting a whole one while eating Biryani dominates the mouth with intense perfume-like odor, feared as the 'Cardamom Bomb' baptism Indian food beginners invariably face.

Eating tips & etiquette

[Unique Eating] Post-meal, peel the pod and put only the inner black seeds directly into the mouth as a breath freshener (mouthwash), chewing it like gum!
