Trivia

This is the true identity of the aroma in Taiwanese 'Lu Rou Fan' and authentic Chashu in JP ramen shops. It also became famous as the raw material for the flu drug 'Tamiflu'.

Eating tips & etiquette

Because the aroma is intensely strong, adding too much makes the entire dish smell 'medicinal'. For a home-sized pot, 1-2 stars per dish is plenty to flavor it.
